Many caravan owners start with a factory-fitted BMPRO system and, as their travel style evolves, begin looking for more battery capacity, additional charging sources, or the ability to run high-power appliances when off-grid.
One of the most common mistakes we see is owners adding products from multiple brands and creating a mix of monitoring systems, apps and communication protocols. While this can work, it often leads to a fragmented user experience and reduced visibility of what is happening across the entire power system. Starting with DC-DC chargers and the ProBoost40 – this is the simplest and most effective starting point most caravan owners looking to upgrade to lithium batteries. The ProBoost40 combines two critical charging functions into a single product a massive 40A from either DC-DC charging from the vehicle alternator or 40A MPPT solar charging from rooftop solar panels. This means you can charge your battery bank while driving, while parked in the sun, or from both energy sources depending on your installation.
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology continuously optimises solar panel performance, helping maximise the available solar energy and convert it efficiently into usable battery charging power and on the DC-DC side it works with all alternators even newer versions.

BUT… there may be a missing link – a shunt! As power systems become larger and more sophisticated, accurate power monitoring becomes increasingly important. The BMPRO PXShunt is designed to provide this visibility.
With a continuous current rating of 500A, the PXShunt measures the power flowing into and out of the battery bank. This information allows the BMPRO system to accurately monitor battery usage, charging performance and overall energy consumption. By providing real-time current measurement data, the PX-Shunt helps ensure the entire power management system has the information it needs to manage energy effectively.
