How much power does your caravan really need? The 12V Guru explains how the appliances you use and the time you spend off-grid determine the right power solution for the way you travel.

BMPRO is proud to announce its partnership with Snowy River Caravans to launch a new 48V power platform developed specifically for the caravan manufacturerās new MY27 range.
Ā
The new 48V technology forms a key part of the most significant update in Snowy River Caravansā history, bringing advanced power capability to the new MY27 models alongside upgraded specifications, new layouts and refreshed interior and exterior colour themes.
Designed and engineered in Australia, the bespoke 48V system has been developed specifically around Snowy River Caravansā requirements. Rather than adapting an existing off-the-shelf solution, BMPRO worked closely with Snowy River to engineer a platform built for the MY27 rangeĀ from the outset.
Ā
The result is a 48V power system delivering faster charging, greater efficiency and the ability to run more appliances at once, supporting the growing power demands of modern caravanning and off-grid travel.
Ā
The new 48V equipped models for MY27 will debut to the public at Leisurefest 2026, running October 1ā4 at Sandown, Victoria.

Australian Engineering. Built for Snowy River.
BMPRO brings decades of power electronics experience to the Australian caravan and RV industry, developing intelligent power solutions around the way manufacturers build their RVs and the way travellers use them.
Ā
For Snowy River, that meant developing a 48V platform specifically for its requirements and Australian touring conditions, from everyday travel to remote off-grid adventures.
The new platform is exclusive to Snowy River and has been engineered as an integral part of the MY27 range rather than retrofitted into an existing system.
Ā
BMPRO CEO David Bayliss said the partnership reflects the growing importance of capable power management for todayās RV traveller:
Ā
āBMPRO is excited to be partnering exclusively with Snowy River in their new 48V caravans and motorhomes. As power becomes more of a vital necessity, especially in off-grid adventures, BMPRO has developed market leading power management systems to enable the Snowy River customer to explore further and for longer. For over 60 years BMPRO has been developing
custom designed power solutions across medical, gaming, industrial, military and RV industries worldwide, so it is with great pleasure to now partner with a market leading Australian brand in Snowy River Caravans.ā
Ā
Powering the Next Generation of RV Travel
The move to 48V gives Snowy River owners greater power capability and improved charging efficiency, providing more flexibility to use the appliances and comforts that have become part of modern RV travel. It also gives travellers greater capability when spending time away from powered sites, supporting longer stays and greater freedom off-grid.
Ā
The 48V technology will feature throughout Snowy Riverās new MY27 SRH, SRM and SRT ranges. Snowy River Caravans CEO Andrew Crank said:
Ā
āOur new MY27 range of SRH, SRM and SRT is here, and it changes what āstandardā means. EveryĀ model runs 48V technology, engineered in Australia for Snowy River by BMPRO, at a price youādĀ expect to pay for 12V. That was the brief we set ourselves, and weāve delivered it. 48V, for theĀ price of 12V.ā
Ā
The Biggest MY27 Update Yet
Ā
Alongside the introduction of 48V power, Snowy River Caravansā MY27 range brings together new layouts, upgraded specifications and refreshed interior and exterior colour themes.
Ā
It is the broadest range of changes Snowy River Caravans has introduced in a single model year.
Ā
The new 48V technology is a key part of that update, bringing BMPROās power management expertise directly into the next generation of Snowy River caravans and motorhomes.Ā
Ā
The new MY27 models will be on display for the first time at Leisurefest 2026, held October 1ā4 at Sandown, Victoria – Sites A01 & C41.
Ā
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the new models and see the BMPRO 48V technology in action for the first time.
